Expert: Tottenham-Everton transfer deal 'has been done' after restaurant reveal
Tottenham and Everton have come to a transfer agreement after Daniel Levy and Bill Kenwright were spotted having dinner together.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On Tuesday (28 June) The BBC’s former North America correspondent Jon Sopel tweeted that Levy and Everton chairman Kenwright had dinner together the previous night at Scott’s restaurant in London.
The reporter was sat at the next table on a day when Sky Sports reported Spurs’ interest in signing Richarlison, 25, and Anthony Gordon, 21, from the Toffees.
When asked how much could be read into the reported meeting, Wenham told Football Insider’s Ben Wild, “I think a lot can be read into that.
“I find it slightly bizarre. Scott’s is not exactly a private place. Daniel Levy and Bill Kenwright are also quite recognisable characters even if you aren’t a football enthusiast.

“To me, it seems like a celebratory meal after a deal has been done. You are going there for a nice steak and champagne to celebrate.
“I think Tottenham and Everton are certainly going to do some business and I think that will happen in the coming days.
“Everton’s financial situation has been made abundantly clear. I believe they have to get everything their records in place by 30 June. They need to sell first and then look to add players for the next accounting year, owing to FFP.”
Tottenham have already signed Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma this summer.
On 10 June, this site revealed Tottenham are in advanced talks to sign Spence, 21, from Middlesbrough.
