Expert: Tottenham in ‘super advanced’ talks to agree ‘world record’ deal

Tottenham could soon announce a ‘£400million’ stadium sponsorship with Google that will break world records.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

On Monday (10 October) David Ornstein reported Tottenham are in “meaningful talks” with Google over a naming rights deal for their stadium.

Wenham expects and deal with Google to break world records for the value of a stadium sponsorship.

“Google is a huge, well-established company,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“It opens up the American market massively. I said last week that I thought Todd Kline was working in the background after we secured the deal with Coca-Cola.

“If we could agree on a deal with Google, or whoever it may be, it will surprise a lot of people, especially non-Tottenham fans.

“Not only will it be a world-record deal in terms of sponsorship for a football stadium, but Tottenham have also always pushed for a £20million-a-year, 20-year deal.

“So £400million all in. When the deal is done it will be a staggering amount of money that people on the outside look and wonder how we have pulled this deal off.

“People forget Tottenham have been in the Champions League for five of the last seven seasons. We have played European football for the last however many seasons.

“We host all of these events, we have the England captain, the captain of South Korea, World Cup winners and we are based in London, that’s a huge part of it.

“It sounds like these are super advanced talks so let’s hope for some news soon.”

In other news, one pundit has lambasted three Tottenham big names after a ‘hard to believe’ development.
