Arsenal expected to beat Tottenham to Wilfried Zaha signing after source’s reveal today – expert
Noel Whelan has suggested Wilfried Zaha would not be well-suited to Antonio Conte’s “defensive” style at Tottenham as they plot a move for the forward.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 30-year-old would be better off signing for Arsenal and playing as part of Mikel Arteta’s “attacking brand of football”.
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (13 December) that Tottenham are interested in signing Zaha on a summer free transfer in 2023.

Sources have told us in the last 24 hours that Arsenal are also ready to push hard for the winger as he enters the final six months of his contract at Selhurst Park.
Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino previously attempted to sign Zaha but the Lilywhites were unable to meet Crystal Palace’s asking price on two occasions.
The Ivory Coast international has notched six goals and two assists in 13 Premier League games this term.
Whelan told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “It comes down to his personal choice between Arsenal and Tottenham.
“There’s been growth from both sides in the last couple of years.
“You could probably see him more as an Arsenal-type player because of that attacking brand of football.
“Conte’s style is more defensive, more counter-attacking.
“There’s a bit more of a flow to Arsenal’s game, which would probably suit Zaha more than Tottenham.
“Where would I see him benefit and have more success? Probably at Arsenal under Arteta.”

Arsenal sit top of the Premier League after 14 games – and have scored the second-most goals in the top flight.
Spurs are fourth in the table and will participate in the Champions League knockout stage early in 2023.
