Expert wowed by ‘brilliant’ Williams after dazzling Tottenham display

Young striker Jaden Williams is one talent for Tottenham fans to “watch out for” after impressing in the FA Youth Cup.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Williams, 17, scored Tottenham’s opener as his side progressed in the FA Youth Cup with a win over Ipswich on 16 December

He also has four goals in 10 outings in the Under 18 Premier League.

Wenham was delighted to see Williams get some recognition after being stuck in Jamie Donley’s shadow this season.

“I want to give huge credit to Jaden,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He’s been overshadowed because he is in the same team as Jamie Donley.

“He also plays as a striker and sometimes as a winger. Donley usually gets the goals and assists in that team.

“Williams has looked brilliant when I’ve seen him this season, he’s a very powerful player.

“I was delighted that he could get a goal in the absence of Donley in that recent FA Youth Cup win over Ipswich.

“He stood up and gave the team a real focal point up-front.

“He’s been a bit under the radar this season, some players have had far more recognition.

“It’s great to see him becoming another option for us. He’s certainly one to watch out for.”

Williams reached double figures in goals and assists for Spurs’ Under 16s last season.

As per Tottenham’s website, he has been at the club since he was six years old.

In other news, an Insider has told Football Insider how Tottenham are working on a deal to sign “unbelievable” player in January.
