'Exquisite' Benitez tipped to spring 'special' Everton surprise v Man United after 'big' news - Mills
Danny Mills has suggested the “exquisite” Rafa Benitez may spring a “special” surprise with his Everton starting XI against Man United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Man City and England defender delivered his verdict after four Everton players were ruled out of the trip to Old Trafford.
Benitez revealed in his pre-game press conference today (October 1) that Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Seamus Coleman and Andre Gomes will miss the game.
Meanwhile, Alex Iwobi is a major doubt for Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off.
The Blues boss also claimed that he had no plan to deal with Cristiano Ronaldo as he insisted “you can’t just focus on one player”.
Asked for his reaction to the latest injury news, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It certainly will be a big blow.

“But Rafa Benitez is an exquisite tactician. We know how good he is at conjuring up a plan from nowhere at times.
“Be prepared for him to come up with something a little bit clever, a little bit special to try and outwit Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“Marcelo Bielsa is probably the only one who comes out and says exactly what he’s going to do and tell everybody.
“I’d beleive that [no plan for Ronaldo] with a pinch of salt. They will not go there without a plan, certainly there will be something to try and keep Ronaldo and the wide players quiet.”
Everton beat Norwich City 2-0 last time out to climb to fifth-position in the Premier League.
Victory over Man United would see them end the weekend in the top-four.
