FA told to think twice about Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp as meeting scheduled – Agbonlahor

Gabby Agbonlahor has urged the Football Association not to hand Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp a touchline ban.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa striker did not have a problem with the 55-year-old’s actions against Man City.

Klopp was sent off in the second half of Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Man City on 16 October.

On 18 October, the FA confirmed that Klopp has been charged with improper conduct for his actions.

As reported by the Mirror (21 October), the Reds boss has accepted the charge and an FA disciplinary commission will meet this week to decide on an appropriate penalty.

When asked by Football Insider if Klopp should be handed a touchline ban for his behaviour at Anfield, Agbonlahor said: “No.

“I think the linesman deserved it for me because it was a blatant foul on [Mohamed] Salah. You will not see a more obvious foul.

“When your team is 1-0 up and miles behind Man City in the league and the linesman doesn’t give that foul… Jurgen Klopp will have been thinking, ‘This could lead to a goal.’ He cannot help but take out his frustration at the linesman.

“In the heat of these games it happens. So what. We want to see this. We are turning into a goody two-shoes. Get on with it. It is heat of the moment.

“I would have loved to have seen Klopp give the ref some. This is what we want to see in the Premier League. It is entertainment. I did not mind it from Klopp.”
