Fabio Carvalho expected to make full Liverpool debut amid ‘brilliant’ claim – pundit

Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho is in line to make his full debut against Bournemouth on Saturday.

That is according to ex-Premier League striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 19-year-old’s impressive cameo against Manchester United on Monday.

Carvalho replaced James Milner for the final 20 minutes of Liverpool’s 2-1 loss at Old Trafford.

The attacking midfielder impressed and had a big hand in Mohamed Salah’s late goal for the visitors.

Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Harvey Elliott started in midfield for Jurgen Klopp’s side against the Red Devils.

When asked by Football Insider if Carvalho deserved to start when Bournemouth travel to Anfield on Saturday, Campbell said: “I thought he was very good against United.

“He was lively. He is brilliant on the ball. I thought he provided a spark for Liverpool in the second half, to be honest with you.

“Bournemouth at home could be the perfect opportunity to give him his first start. Klopp gives youngsters a go.

“Given how everybody performed on Monday, why not give the man a go? There needs to be changes.

“Have a look at him. I would give Carvalho a start at Anfield. One thing is for sure, the crowd will back him.

“The team needs to get back to winning ways. They must win. Why not? I like the kid. He is a very good player who is going to be around for a while. I think we could see him start.”
