Fabio Paratici has put Luka Vuskovic’s Tottenham future in jeopardy with what he’s just done pre-January

Luka Vuskovic has every right to be fuming with Fabio Paratici’s latest move at Tottenham.

The Croatian defender is currently on loan in the Bundesliga with Hamburg, after he was named on the bench by his parent club in the Premier League earlier in the season.

Vuskovic is tipped to have a huge future at Tottenham, and he was already on the fringes of the first-team squad in the summer, as he impressed Thomas Frank during the team’s pre-season campaign.

The Lilywhites have been keeping a close eye on the 18-year-old during his time in Germany, but Paratici has just made a move that could cast doubt on his very future with the club.

Fabio Paratici makes contact over Aleksandar Stankovic transfer

Tottenham have received interest in Vuskovic from both Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig of late, but they have no desire to sell him at the moment.

However, the centre-back may now push for an exit off his own back after what Paratici has just done ahead of the January transfer window.

The Italian returned to Tottenham to become their joint sporting director alongside Johan Lange back in October, and he has immediately taken charge of transfer dealings at the North London outfit.

He has already made personal contact to explore the possibility of a move for Club Brugge centre-back Aleksandar Stankovic, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.

Inter Milan hold a buy-back clause of just over £20million after selling him to the Belgian outfit in the summer, and they intend to activate that at the end of the campaign.

However, the financial strength of the Premier League could make Inter “falter” and hand Spurs a crucial edge.

There is also interest in the Serbian from clubs in Spain and Germany, and it remains to be seen whether Paratici will look to firm up Spurs’ initial interest with an offer.

Stankovic arrival to anger Luka Vuskovic into considering his future

Vuskovic has been heavily praised at Tottenham since his arrival as a first-team player in the summer, and he is currently one of the brightest prospects they have at their disposal.

The starlet will rightfully feel that he is the next cab off the rank in terms of the centre-back position in N17, especially considering that Tottenham even hold the option to recall him in January.

With that in mind, he will surely be fuming to see that his parent club are looking to add another talented young defender who is just two years older than he is.

Opportunities to break into the centre of Frank’s backline are already limited by the prowess of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, and adding another obstacle between Vuskovic getting in the side may be enough to have him questioning his future.

The youngster will have ambitions of playing in the Premier League, but that could all be put into jeopardy if Paratici continues with this pursuit.
