Fabio Silva: Wolves plan revealed after Rangers transfer decision

Wolves are willing to accept permanent or loan offers for Fabio Silva this month, sources have told Football Insider.

The 22-year-old is on the fringes at Molineux after a mixed spell at Rangers in the second half of last season.

The Scottish giants have chosen not to pursue a second loan for him, and a new move is now expected before the 31st August cut-off.

Since joining Wolves in 2020, Silva has failed to cement his place in the starting lineup and has had three separate loan spells away from the club.

Silva is one of Wolves’ high-earners on £80,000-a-week, therefore removing that from the books will benefit the Premier League outfit.

The Portugal Under-21 international is under contract at Molineux until 2026, but Wolves are aiming to cash in on him this summer.

Wolves want to offload Fabio Silva in this transfer window

Silva was not part of Gary O’Neil’s match-day squad for their opening Premier League game of the season as they were beaten 2-0 by Arsenal.

The club are now looking to offload the forward before the transfer window shuts, as O’Neil has deemed him surplus to requirements.

Silva has made 72 appearances for Wolves but has only managed to score five goals and provide six assists.

Silva made just eight Premier League appearances last season, with five of those coming from the bench.

This led to a loan spell at Rangers for the second half of the campaign, but he struggled to make an impact for the Scottish giants.
