Leeds United already have James Milner at the club in the shape of the “awesome” Stuart Dallas.
That is the verdict of Kevin Phillips, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the astonishing transformation of the Northern Ireland international into an effective imitator of the Premier League great.
Milner has been regularly linked with finishing his career at boyhood club Leeds and has made no attempt to hide his support for the side where he started his career.
He continues to be a key man at Liverpool and started their goalless Premier League draw at Newcastle United on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, Dallas has secured untouchable status at Leeds under their feted manager Marcelo Bielsa.
“You would say Dallas is the James Milner of this Leeds team, you can play him anywhere,” Phillips told Football Insider.
“He is Mr. Reliable. He has had to step into a few different positions this season but he always just gets on with it.
“Dallas has been a fabulous player for Leeds this season and last. He is so reliable and he has quality as well.
“They looked awesome against West Brom, two days after a tough game against Burnley.”
Dallas has started all 16 of Leeds’ Premier League matches this season and completed 15 of them as well.
He has been used at right-back, left-back, central midfield and right midfield, scoring three goals and supplying one assist.
