Facundo Buonanotte: I learn from ‘wonderful’ Chelsea player ‘every day’ in training
Facundo Buonanotte is settling into life at Chelsea by looking up to one star in the squad every day at training.
Buonanotte joined Chelsea from Brighton and has made three appearances for the Blues so far, scoring his first goal for the club away at Lincoln in the Carabao Cup.
Just weeks after joining, Buonanotte was not included in Chelsea’s Champions League squad however, an injury to Daniel Essugo meant the 20-year-old was eventually called up.
Due to an injury to Cole Palmer, Buonanotte started Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Benfica on matchday two and will be pushing for more starts under Enzo Maresca.

Facundo Buonanotte praises ‘wonderful’ Chelsea star
As per TYC Sports, [7 October], Buonanotte has revealed he looks up to Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez in training.
“He’s a fundamental pillar. I learn from him every day, and he was the first to write to me when my move to the club was finalised,” he added.
“I don’t need to say anything about what he’s like on the pitch, because he’s a wonderful player and everyone sees that; But beyond that, he’s a great person.”
Fernandez and Buonanotte are both Argentina internationals, though the latter only has two caps compared to the former’s 37.
Buonanotte fails to take opportunity in Cole Palmer absence
Despite his start against Benfica, Buonanotte didn’t even make it off the bench against Liverpool in the Premier League last time out.
Buonanotte had little impact against Benfica, in a match where with Palmer injured he could’ve increased his claims for first team minutes.

The forward may point to 19-year-old Tyrique George starting up front, and the lack of impact he too had on the game, but with 66% possession Buonanotte should’ve done more.
With Palmer back after the international break, Buonanotte is likely to have to continue trying to impress Maresca in the Carabao Cup, with a trip to Wolves next in the competition.
