By Richard Parks

Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their excitement after a reliable journalist claimed the club are signing Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves.

Lisbon-based Marcus Alves reported on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday morning that the Merseyside giants are not only trying to sign the 21-year-old but have already agreed the terms of a deal.

Alves, who works for respected magazines Four Four Two and Kicker, wrote “Neves coming to Liverpool” and that the “pieces are moving in the market” as he explained that Benfica’s Anderson Talisca is set to join Wolves as a replacement.

Neves has been one of the stars of the Championship this season following his surprise £15.8million move from Porto last summer.

He was one of three contenders for the Championship player of the year in the vote that was won by Fulham sensation Ryan Sessegnon last Sunday night and which also featured Tom Cairney.
