‘Can never ever play for a big club’ – Fans react as Poch delivers update on Spurs controversy
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has spoken out about his striker Harry Kane’s reaction to the FA’s Tweet following the cup semi-final against Manchester United last weekend.
A message from the country’s leading footballing governing body showed Chris Smalling being asked, “What’s that in your pocket, Chris?”
Only for the Manchester United defender to reply, “Harry Kane.”
The FA have since apologised to both clubs but according to the Spurs boss, the England striker was “very sad,” stating that the club were “helping him to move on about that situation.”
However, rather than putting an end to all the talk about the incident, it would seem, at least on social media, fans are not quite done with trolling the nation’s hitman after Poch’s latest comments.
It’s not the first time fans from the footballing community have taken the opportunity to take a swipe at Kane.
After the 37 goals hitman claimed a 63rd-minute goal against Stoke at the Brittania at the start of the month without appearing to touch the ball, supporters clamoured to slate the forward who was even the butt of a joke at the PFA Award ceremony.
Here is a round-up of reactions from social media from fans reacting unsympathetically to the Lillywhites’ manager’s comment:
