Leeds United have terminated the contract of defender Amadou Haidara – and fans on Twitter are baffled.
New documents registered with the Football Association show that the centre-back, 24, had his deal with the club cancelled by mutual consent on 20 February.
There has been no announcement from Leeds about the exit of Haidara, but paperwork on the official FA website shows that an agreement was reached last month for the Frenchman to end his association with the Championship outfit.
Haidara signed for Leeds in 2016 but did not make a single senior appearance for the club.
The former Nantes defender was a member of the Under-23s squad and played in quite a few games, but he failed to make the first-team breakthrough and is now on the lookout for a new club.
A section of Leeds fans took to social media to react to the exit of Haidara, with some intrigued as to why he was signed two years ago at a peak playing age but was barely ever seen.

Leeds are next in action tomorrow (Saturday) when they host Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road in a 3pm kick-off.
