Noel Whelan has been left raving after Brighton manager Graham Potter confirmed that Ben White would remain with Leeds United until the end of the season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Leeds striker insists it is “fantastic to hear” that the centre-back will see out the campaign at Elland Road after all the uncertainty in the Championship.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Potter confirmed that all of the players out on loan, including White, will remain at their current clubs until their respective seasons are completed.

White has been a mainstay on loan at Leeds, establishing himself as a crucial part of the club’s push for promotion.
With speculation over Jean-Kevin Augustin’s fitness ahead of the Championship return, Whelan admits the update on White is the good news the Whites need.
Whelan told Football Insider: “It’s fantastic news – when you’ve got a little bit of bad news on one side (Augustin’s injury), Ben White staying for the nine games is fantastic to hear from Brighton.
“It’s great that the player can finish what he started with Leeds United. A massive boost because that just means the partnership can remain the same with Cooper and White together.
“It’s been fantastic all season so that’s a huge plus for Marcelo Bielsa and the team itself to have him available. He wouldn’t want to miss out on these nine, he wants to see out these with Leeds United and it’s great that we’ve got him.”
White, who spent last season on loan at League One Peterborough, has started and played every single minute of Leeds’ 37 Championship games this season.
He has featured just twice for Brighton’s senior side since coming through the youth ranks on the south coast.
In other Leeds United news, Alex Bruce has named the “biggest obstacle” to the Whites being promoted this year.
