Ferdinand issues Tottenham warning ahead of clash v Arsenal, claims who will be favourites
By Danny Wright
Les Ferdinand has claimed that Tottenham will be favourites for their clash against Arsenal on Saturday.
Spurs return to Premier League action this weekend in what will be the first North London derby of the season at the Emirates, and although Mauricio Pochettino’s side are in top form, Ferdinand, 50, has warned that could all completely go out of the window this weekend.
Tottenham are currently third in the league standings while Arsenal, after a stuttering start, are sixth after losing to Manchester City in their last outing.
The Gunners have also won just one of their last seven fixtures against Spurs in all competitions, but Ferdinand has admitted he won’t be reading too much into history ahead of the North London derby.
“I think you’d have to make Spurs favourites at the moment,” Ferdinand told Sky Sports on Monday, as quoted by the Express.

“But everyone knows when you go into a derby game, form goes out of the window.
“It’s what it means to the players.
“The atmosphere is always electric, it’s good.”
Spurs can move up to to second spot in the Premier League this weekend by winning at Arsenal, as long as Manchester United fail to win in their home clash against Newcastle at Old Trafford.
Leaders Manchester City are eight points clear of the chasing pack already after their stunning start to the campaign. They face an away trip to Leicester in the hopes of keeping their gap to Spurs and United.
Ferdinand spent six years as a player on the books at White Hart Lane, helping them to one of their last pieces of silverware when they lifted the 1999 League Cup before going on to have spells with West Ham, Leicester and Bolton before retiring.
