Finance guru: Liverpool tipped to secure £12m-a-year deal as talks revealed

Doctor Dan Plumley expects Liverpool to earn £12million-a-year if they extend their sleeve sponsorship deal with Expedia.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the football finance expert suggested the club could even earn up to £20million-per-annum from an extension.

As revealed by the Daily Mail (13 August), Liverpool are currently in talks to extend their sponsorship deal with Expedia.

The Reds have had the travel company’s logo on their shirt sleeves since 2020 and earn £10million every year as a result of it.

The current deal with Expedia runs until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if a price hike was likely due to Chelsea’s £20million-a-year deal with WhaleFin, Plumley said: “The Chelsea one is a bit of an anomaly at the minute.

“They are in the crypto space. That is the highest figure.

“If you look at where Liverpool are in relation to the rest, a Big Six club would command more. You are looking at around £10-20million as a ballpark figure for shirt sleeve deals.

“The other 14 clubs are earning between £1-10million.

“If Liverpool extend the deal, I expect them to get more than £10million but less than £20million. £20million is the top figure at the moment.

“You are probably going to see a new deal get at least £12million given how well things are going on the pitch for them at the moment.”
