Firpo and Klich react to Patrick Bamford’s message as Leeds United exit looms

Patrick Bamford took to social media with a message for Leeds United supporters as his future hangs in the balance at Elland Road.

The 31-year-old forward didn’t make a single start in the Championship this season amid further injury set backs, limiting his involvement in the Whites’ charge back to the Premier League via automatic promotion.

He has struggled for fitness immensely throughout his career in West Yorkshire and was finally linked with a move away, as Wrexham began being linked with a move for Bamford.

Despite this, he remains a prominant figure at Elland Road, having made 207 appearances for the club since 2018, scoring 60 goals and notching 20 assists, helping the club to promotion in 2019/20 and earning an England cap subsequently.

Paul Robinson told Football Insider that Bamford will be leaving Leeds this summer, with Jamie Vardy said to be on the radar to replace the former Chelsea striker ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Taking to Instagram (29 May), working with ARW Collective Studios, Bamford wrote: “Easing in,” sharing a series of videos of the striker working back to full fitness.

Junior Firpo, Mateusz Klich, and Josuha Guilavogui all liked the post, showing support for the Leeds figure, who has struggled to stay fit for Farke’s team this season.

Daniel Farke prepares for difficult Premier League campaign

Football Insider verdict

It has been an incredible season from the Whites, beating Burnley and Sheffield United to the Championship title, only for the latter to miss out completely via the play-offs.

Leeds will be joined by the Clarets and Sunderland in the Premier League next season, and the target of staying in the division for more than one season will be the same for all of them.

With that in mind, Farke will need to make several key signings during the summer to help Leeds stand a chance of surviving relegation straight back down to the Championship.

Football Insider understands that Leeds have upwards of £100million to spend on transfers this summer, and with multiple stars linked with exits, that might increase once the window swings open.

Leeds face competition over the signing of Manor Solomon, Football Insider understands, however, so it will not be a simple transfer window for those at Elland Road this summer.
