Rangers have a history unmatched by few clubs anywhere on earth and after 146 years of history, a host of legends have written their name into Ibrox folklore as they have helped the club to a world record trophy haul.
From the Gallant Pioneers through to the current batch of players, the Ibrox giants have become an institution in Scottish culture – far removed from their humble origins.
With 54 league championships, 33 Scottish Cups and 27 Scottish League Cups the trophy room at Ibrox tells the story of generations of success that has seen the club grow from four teenagers – brothers Moses McNeil and Peter McNeil, Peter Campbell and William McBeath – wanting to get involved in football to a worldwide brand with supporters in every corner of the globe and 50,000 fans at Ibrox every other week.
Over the years, a host of bona-fide superstars have plied their trade at the iconic home of the Glasgow giants and helped the Gers rack up success after success after success.
In recent times, the Gers haven’t had their troubles to seek as they suffered financial meltdown in 2012 and had to climb their way back up through the leagues from the bottom.
The Ibrox side are now back in the Scottish Premiership as they look to win the club’s 55th Scottish title and write their names in the club’s storied history alongside some of the iconic Gers stars who are in the club’s Hall of Fame.
