Five Chelsea stars who are set to leave with £350m fire sale revealed

Chelsea could be about to receive a huge boost to their transfer budget if £100million worth of talent can be sold.

The Italian has brought in strikers Liam Delap and Joao Pedro alongside winger Jamie Gittens, and defender Jorrel Hato has become the latest high profile recruit.

There is still work to do in the market though for Maresca, mostly to get fringe players off their books to free up space in the budget.

Chelsea have already accumulated £250million in sales this summer and the club are hoping to reach the £350m figure before the window shuts, as per The Athletic [5 August].

Below are five Chelsea players who they could move on to make that figure.

Move on Premier League title winner

Sterling moved to Chelsea following a successful period at Manchester City, but Maresca sent the 30-year-old on loan to Arsenal in his first season in charge.

The Arsenal loan failed to work out for Sterling, who is now looking for a new club to reignite his career.

West London neighbours Fulham are his “number one destination” although Sterling’s wage demands could be an issue.

If Sterling cannot be sold, Chelsea may revert to terminating his contract.

Leeds want outcast defender

Ben Chilwell was sent on loan in the second half of last season to Crystal Palace, and was an unused substitute as the Eagles lifted the FA Cup for the first time in their history.

Chilwell’s career at Chelsea has come to an end under Maresca after the manager publicly announced the 28-year-old was “going to struggle with us.”

Injuries have also played a role in Chilwell being unable to cement the left-back position, which is now firmly taken by Marc Cucurella.

Chilwell’s contract could also be terminated by Chelsea, although Leeds United have agreed a £10m deal.

Veiga could join Chelsea rivals

It was exclusively revealed by Football Insider in April that Tottenham were exploring a move for Renato Veiga, who could be available for £30m.

Veiga spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus, and the Italian club were not allowed to extend the deal into the Club World Cup due to Chelsea’s participation.

The 22-year-old faces competition for places at centre-back and a move away from Stamford Bridge looks best for his development.

Chukwuemeka to move abroad

Chukwuemeka looks set to move back to German club Borussia Dortmund, whom he was on loan at in the second part of last season.

The 21-year-old is another young player who has struggled to break through into the starting XI since his move from Aston Villa in 2022.

Dortmund have a reputation for signing English talent and then selling them on for a profit, so there is every chance we will see Chukwuemeka back in the Premier League in the future.

Chelsea to try offload Disasi

Disasi was another player shipped out on loan in the January transfer window, with the defender heading to Premier League rivals Aston Villa.

The 27-year-old endured a difficult spell at the club, with Disasi exposed when frequently covering at full-back.

Villa do not want to sign Disasi on a permanent deal, and Chelsea are open to offers on a player they signed from Monaco in 2023.
