After a dour 0-0 draw at St Andrew’s in October, Bruce was under pressure to grab a win against his side’s bitter rivals.
Villa fans were helped to a top display by the squad as Adomah and Hourihane’s second-half goals were enough to grab the bragging rights in what could be the last Second City derby in quite a while, if the Villains win the play-offs.
