5. Martin O’Neill
Aston Villa enjoyed some of their best Premier League years under O’Neill’s leadership and their decline was ultimately the result of the Northern Irishman quitting Villa Park on the eve of the 2010/11 season.
In his four years at Villa Park, O’Neill consistently led Villa to high finishes, mixing it with the big boys with three sixth-placed finishes in a row.
The club would qualify for the Europa League twice under his leadership, but never made it past the qualification rounds.
