4. Graham Taylor
It was impossible to find a supporter at Villa Park who disliked Graham Taylor.
He was one of the most popular managers that the club have ever had, not only because of his likable personality, but also because he was a very good boss.
Taylor had two spells at Villa Park. In his first he led the West Midlands club to promotion back to the First Division in 1986/87 and two years later helped them finish as runners-up in the top-flight – a feat that has been matched just once since.
He left Villa for England in 1990 and would return for his second spell between 2002 and 2003.
