Roma attacker Mohamed Salah is set for his medical with Liverpool next week ahead of a permanent move, according to a report.

KingFut claim that the 25-year-old has booked his flight to England and will arrive in Liverpool on Tuesday for a medical with the Merseyside club.

It is understood that the Reds and Roma have now agreed a deal over a transfer for the Egypt international after initial talks failed.

The report details that the agreed fee is believed to be around £39.3million and that will become a club-record signing for Liverpool

Salah is now closing in on a move to Liverpool and caught their attention after a superb year in Italy last season.

The right winger was a crucial player for Serie A club Roma and made 41 appearances across all competitions, scoring 19 goals and supplying 15 assists.

He is now set to return the Premier League as he was previously on the books with Chelsea for two years between 2014-16.

Salah failed to break into the first team at Stamford Bridge and was loaned subsequently loaned out, but he has continued to develop his game at Roma and is set for a second chance in England.

Football Insider verdict:

Salah is an exciting prospect for Liverpool fans ahead of next season and he could be a real hit if he can replicate the form he showed in Italy. The wide man is blessed with blistering pace and should be able to really hurt Premier League defences. He already appears to have the attributes of a Klopp player and his high work-rate should lend itself well to the style at Anfield. Liverpool could have a thrilling attacking line-up in store with Salah and Sadio Mane on the wings, with Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino through the centre. Salah was never given a fair chance at Chelsea and at 25 now looks to have developed into a brilliant atatcking player.
