‘Forget about Yamal’ – Man United fans go crazy over never-seen-before gem in first-team training

Man United supporters are unable to hide their excitement at the latest academy product to join first-team training this season.

Kobbie Mainoo has been struggling at Old Trafford, much to the disappointment of many fans, but Ruben Amorim has made a point of trusting a much younger squad since his appointment.

Chelsea have Estevao, while Arsenal have Max Dowman, and now, the Red Devils appear to have uncovered a diamond within their own four walls, and it might not be long until he takes the stage.

With United currently sitting ninth in the Premier League table after eight games, and few other competitions to worry about, the club could do with some inspiration to kick the squad into gear.

JJ Gabriel joins Man United first-team training at 15 years old

Taking to Instagram, 15-year-old JJ Gabriel shared a picture of his boots, captioned “first team training,” with a tick emoji, and fans have exploded at the prospect of his development at Carrington.

Reacting to the image, one supporter said that “the world will forget about [Lamine] Yamal“, while another is clearly impressed by the youngster’s stats at Under-18-level so far this season.

Man United fans are clearly looking for more signs of hope, especially after claiming a shock win over Liverpool at Anfield last weekend, and a brand-new superstar would certainly achieve that.

It is fair to say that some of the reactions are getting out of hand, but with new footage popping up on social media every now and then, it is no surprise to see him compared to Neymar.

Unsurprisingly, the gem is yet to make his senior debut.

Who is Man United’s youngest-ever Premier League starter?

The Man United academy has been an absolute goldmine for young talents over the decades, with some of the Premier League’s greatest-ever players coming from Carrington.

Angel Gomes is the club’s youngest-ever Premier League debutant, but going even younger, Chido Obi takes the crown for the youngest to start in the division after featuring against Brentford in May 2025.

He was 17 years and 156 days old when playing against the Bees, and while he only has eight senior appearances to his name now, fans are massively excited to see more of him.

JJ Gabriel could be next to join a list of huge talents, but at just 15 years old, it might be too soon to throw him straight into the line of fire, especially with United under so much pressure.
