Forget Jack Grealish, another Premier League star will feel hard done by after England injury update
Thomas Tuchel was left having to call up Nico O’Reilly as an injury replacement for his England squad less than 24 hours after the Premier League paused for the international break.
Tuchel was criticised for not picking Jack Grealish in his latest England squad, as the Everton man sealed a late win for his side at home against Crystal Palace.
Jude Bellingham missed out on the England squad once again as the Real Madrid star continues to build up minutes on his return from injury.
There was another England call-up for Dan Burn as the Newcastle defender looks set to play a crucial role under Tuchel, who wants to target more set-piece goals.

Tyrick Mitchell unfortunate to miss out after Reece James withdraws with injury
Adam Wharton was also left out of the England squad despite returning to full fitness, with Tuchel’s decision to omit the Palace midfielder leaving fans confused.
Wharton’s teammate Tyrick Mitchell can also count himself as an unfortunate omission, with Tuchel opting for Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly instead after Reece James’ withdrawal from the squad.
Tino Livramento’s injury left the door ajar for another defender to make their way into the squad, with James’ injury doubling the chances for Mitchell.
However, Bayer Leverkusen’s Jarrell Quansah was favoured in place of Livramento, while O’Reilly deputises for James.
The stats comparing Tyrick Mitchell to Nico O’Reilly
Since breaking into the Crystal Palace set up in the 2019-20 season, Mitchell has made the left-back position his own at Selhurst Park.
Mitchell played 19 Premier League games in the 2020-21 season and has played at least 36 games in the four full league campaigns since.

Meanwhile, Nico O’Reilly has benefited from an injury to Rayan Ait-Nouri, and the young Englishman has taken his chance with both hands.
Since deputising for Ait-Nouri at fullback, O’Reilly has impressed with his performances, playing well defensively and offensively on Pep Guardiola’s left flank.
Despite O’Reilly also having a promising start to the campaign, Mitchell’s ball carrying and defensive work would be a great addition to this England squad at left-back opposite to Djed Spence.
