24-year-old axed in Pochettino 3-4-3: Best possible Tottenham XI to face Crystal Palace
By Will Butcher
Mauricio Pochettino must be wary when selecting his Tottenham starting eleven to face in-form Crystal Palace.
If Spurs want any chance of catching Chelsea they have to win every single game left, and this game won’t be easy.
Sam Allardyce has masterminded six wins in Palace’s last eight games, including scalps against high flying Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal and they’ve climbed to 13th in the Premier League table.
That should force Pochettino into fielding a side that has the defensive nous to stop Palace’s attackers from scoring, but enough attacking talent to find the back of the net themselves.
South Korea international Son Heung-Min should be axed, after the 24-year-old struggled from left wing-back during Saturday’s 4-2 FA Cup semi-final loss to Chelsea.

Replacing the former Bayer Leverkusen ace is Ben Davies, who is better equipped to cope with speed machine Wilfried Zaha.
Kyle Walker should replace Kieran Trippier at right-back, and Pochettino must stick with his three-man defence to deal with the aerial prowess of Christian Benteke.
Hugo Lloris starts in goal for the 38th time this season, despite conceding more than two goals for the first time this season on Saturday.
Walker and Davies line-up alongside Pochettino’s three-man defence of Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier.
Vertonghen and Alderweireld will look to use their knowledge of Belgium teammate Benteke to keep him out, after he scored twice against Liverpool on Sunday.
With Dier in defence and Harry Winks still injured, Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama will team up in the middle of the park.
Son drops to the bench, as PFA young player of the year Dele Alli looks to combine with Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen in the final third.
Spurs have won their last seven league games and will be looking to continue that against Palace, after beating the Eagles 1-0 at White Hart Lane back in August.
They will also be hoping that Southampton can do them a favour on Tuesday night, by taking points off title rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
In other Tottenham news, this senior Spurs ace has revealed he rarely talks to a defensive teammate.
