Football Insider verdict:
Celtic are unlikely to cave in easily to massive bids for Tierney, who is a brilliant young player already one of the best in the SPL and is destined for huge things. No other has been more impressive in the Scottish top flight this season, and Tierney’s consistent class makes him a genuine contender for the coveted player of the year award. It is understandable why United have turned their gaze to Parkhead, but Celtic are well protected after tying the academy product down to a super-long contract. It will take a jawdropping fee to get Tierney, that will smash the Scottish record £12.5million sale of Victor Wanyama to Southampton out of the water.
