From one party animal to another: Dwight Yorke has message for Jack Grealish

By Amir Mir

Dwight Yorke believes Jack Grealish must be “careful” after the Aston Villa midfielder hit the headlines once again for the wrong reasons.

According to the Daily Mail, Grealish, 21, infuriated guests at a Birmingham hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning after throwing a loud party, in which nitrous oxide balloons were used.

Grealish has been one of manager Roberto Di Matteo’s top performers in the Championship this term scoring two goals and providing one assist in seven games.

But former Villa forward Yorke, a renowned party animal, believes Grealish should be careful in the decision he makes as the these “silly mistakes” are affecting his game.

“It’s very hard to say. We’ve all been there Alan, we know how it is,” Yorke told the Alan Brazil Breakfast show on TalkSport. “But in the modern day that we are, with the social media that is available, you just have to be so careful.

“He has been around long enough to know exactly how it all operates and how he should be doing and what he should be doing. He should be very careful but he continues to make these silly mistakes and it affects his football as well.”

Sunday’s incident is one of a long line of misdemeanours Grealish has been involved with in his short Aston Villa career.

Grealish was caught up in a nitrous oxide scandal last year and in June 2015 the youngster was pictured drunk and sprawled out on a road while on holiday in Tenerife.

The England under-21 international missed his sides stalemate with Ipswich on Satuday due to injury, but has been a regular feature for Di Matteo this term making eight appearances in all competitions.

Di Matteo’s side will now welcome Rafa Benitez’ Newcastle to Villa Park on Saturday evening in a mouth-watering contest between the Championship’s big boys.

In other Aston Villa team news, the club’s midfielder has slammed the championship, claiming it doesn’t suit his style.
