Fosun now in shock talks to get rid of ‘one of Wolves’ best players last season’

Fosun are at risk of further damaging an already strained relationship with the Wolves fans, after a dismal few months of the season.

Wolves fans have been told that they should put up with the situation at their club, but the anger has begun to bubble to the surface.

The West Midlands club have lost nine consecutive games across all competitions, and already sit 13 points away from safety.

Many fans boycotted the first half of Manchester United’s 4-1 win over Wolves on Monday in protest of the owners, who have taken much of the blame for the perilous situation.

Wolves hired Rob Edwards in November, but the former Luton Town boss has had no better luck rousing a response from his players than Vitor Pereira did.

Besiktas enter talks to sign Emmanuel Adbadou

Emmanuel Agbadou joined Wolves in January, and has been one of the few shining lights in a struggling defence.

The Ivory Coast international is a strong defender with a good reading of the game, often the furthest back to make last-ditch tackles or clear off the line.

The 28-year-old is a threat in the opposition box, too, and scored his first goal for the club against Crystal Palace towards the end of the season.

But it was reported on Thursday by Sercan Dikme that Turkish club Besiktas are seriously interested in a move for Agbadou.

The defender is keen on the move, with the Black Eagles eager to bring the former Stade Reims man to the Super Lig. Besiktas have entered talks with Wolves to sign the centre-back, with discussions ongoing.

Fosun could sell ‘one of the best’ for Wolves

Agbadou’s arrival last season was key in Wolves’ fight for safety – a fight that they ultimately won under Pereira.

Speaking in September, the former head coach said: “Agbadou, last season, was one of the best players.”

But less than three months later, Wolves have entered talks to sell the defender, who they signed just 12 months ago for £16.6million.

Chairman Jeff Shi and Fosun are already incredibly unpopular at Molineux. The last six months have made sure of that.

Selling a player who could prove key in a promotion push next season, or indeed, a miraculous escape over the next six months, would only further fuel the toxicity.
