Fotis Ioannidis: Major update on Celtic pursuit as approach made – sources
Celtic are unlikely to be able to compete with the likes of West Ham for Panathinaikos striker Fotis Ioannidis, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (15 April) that West Ham have made an early approach over a summer move for the 24-year-old.
The Hoops are also keen on the Greece international but are likely to be priced out of a move for his services this summer.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Celtic cannot compete with Premier League clubs like West Ham – who are looking to do a deal for around £17million.
The Irons will also be able to offer bigger wages to Ioannidis, who has been in red-hot form for Greek side Panathinaikos this term.

He has notched 21 goals and eight assists in 40 games across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign – including five in six in the Europa League.
The 24-year-old, who has scored twice in 10 Greece caps, is under contract at Panathinaikos until June 2027.
Celtic loaned Norwich striker Adam Idah in the January window in a bid to bolster their forward options and beat Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title.

Idah has notched seven goals and two assists in 12 games for the Hoops – and Football Insider revealed in February that he is open to a permanent Parkhead move.
Brendan Rodgers’ side once again have the title in their hands after Rangers lost against Ross County on Sunday (14 April) – leaving them four points behind their Old Firm rivals.
