Eboue Kouassi is wanted by a quarter of European clubs as Celtic consider sending the player out on loan in January, according to a report.
The Scottish Sun is claiming that Werder Bremen, Genk, Standard Liege and Amiens are all interested in signing the midfielder, who cost the Hoops £3million, on a short-term deal.
The Ivorian has apparently indicated that he wants to move to another European league should the loan deal go ahead.
The 20-year-old was signed for £3million from Krasnodar last January, but injuries, a bout of malaria and the form of Celtic’s midfield have kept him on the fringes of the first-team in Glasgow.
Football Insider verdict
This move will only be worthwhile is Kouassi gets game time at the club he moves to. The Hoops seem willing to let the player leave on loan, but the move will be pointless unless the 20-year-old is able to establish himself in either Germany or Belgium. If he is able to do well on loan it could well give him the springboard to kick on and fight his way into Celtic’s first-team next season. With the Bhoys have to play four Champions League qualifying rounds next season Brendan Rodgers will need every member of his squad to navigate a tough start to the season, a Kouassi that’s ready and raring to go would be a big bonus.
