Frank Lampard among leaders for Crystal Palace job as odds for Coventry exit slashed again

Frank Lampard has now emerged as one of the leading contenders to take the manager’s job at Crystal Palace in the summer.

The Coventry City boss has just seen his odds to take over the reins at Selhurst Park cut once again, after they were previously reduced at the end of March.

The 47-year-old is now part of a group of three leading candidates to take charge of the Eagles for next season in the eyes of the bookmakers, with only Robbie Keane and Thomas Frank priced at shorter odds at the moment.

Lampard is on the verge of leading Coventry back to the Premier League for the first time since 2000-01, as his Sky Blues side are currently 11 points clear at the top of the Championship with six games left.

The former Chelsea and Derby County boss has remained fully committed to the project at the CBS Arena so far, but it is now possible that he will not be around to lead them into next season.

Frank Lampard odds revealed for Crystal Palace job

Lampard’s reputation within the game has received a huge boost due to the work that he has done with Coventry, given that the Midlands side were sitting in 17th when he took over back in November 2024.

He has since transformed them into a club that have held the lead at the top of the Championship table for large parts of the season, and are now on the cusp of a return to the promised land.

The boss has been linked with a move to the Premier League on several occasions over the course of the campaign, but has remained determined to stay put and get the promotion job done.

However, with the finishing line now in sight, the resolve of both Lampard and Crystal Palace could potentially be tested once again, as he is now among the favourites for the Palace job.

The former England international has seen his odds slashed down to just 6/1 by one major bookmaker, although Keane remains the favourite in their eyes, as he is currently priced at 7/4.

Palace keen on Thomas Frank’s proven Premier League ability

Football Insider revealed last weekend that Frank is Palace’s preferred option to take over at the moment, despite his recent dismissal by Tottenham earlier in the campaign.

The Dane has impressed the Eagles’ hierarchy with his previous work to establish Brentford in the Premier League, while his top-flight experience is another tick against his name.

The South London outfit have shown a clear interest in Frank since the moment that Oliver Glasner’s departure was confirmed, and that interest hasn’t subsided at all of late.

Nevertheless, Palace will ensure that they explore all the options available to them before making their next appointment, as it could be crucial to helping them get back on track next term.
