Frank Lampard and Cole Palmer react to Kevin De Bruyne’s emotional farewell
Frank Lampard and Cole Palmer have both reacted to Kevin De Bruyne’s farewell message after the Belgian played his last home game for Manchester City on Tuesday.
Pep Guardiola’s men defeated Bournemouth 3-1 on 20 May, but De Bruyne ironically missed a big chance to score in his final Etihad Stadium outing.
Man City now look set to seal Champions League qualification, as a draw with Fulham on the Premier League’s final day will be enough to secure a top-five spot, thanks to their superior goal difference.
De Bruyne’s final season in the North West has not gone to plan, as Guardiola’s men have won nothing except for the Community Shield, but the Belgium international will always be remembered for winning six Premier League titles as well as the Champions League.

The 33-year-old was grateful to help Guardiola’s side achieve victory against Bournemouth in his last home game at the Etihad Stadium.

Taking to Instagram [21 May], De Bruyne wrote: “Could not have asked for a better goodbye. All we can say as a family is: Thank you.”
Both Chelsea star Cole Palmer and Coventry City boss Frank Lampard liked the emotional post.
Jack Grealish could be set for Man City exit
While De Bruyne has officially announced he is leaving Man City this summer, he will not be the only player to exit the Etihad Stadium this summer.
Guardiola’s side need somewhat of a rebuild after failing to win significant silverware this term, having previously won four of the last five Premier League titles.
With that in mind, the North West outfit have set their sights on the likes of Barcelona star Dani Olmo, but they will need to facilitate the exits of some of their current stars.
One City player who could be set to depart the Etihad is Jack Grealish, who has endured a lack of game time under Guardiola this term.
Simon Jordan has suggested that the former Premier League champions should be keen to cash in on the Englishman’s services this summer.
Meanwhile, the England international has attracted interest from Tottenham, who will qualify for the Champions League if they beat Manchester United in Wednesday’s Europa League final.
