Frank Lampard believes that Chelsea have every right to be worried about Tottenham’s stunning recent form, and thinks nerves could show in their huge game with Manchester United.

Spurs eased to victory against Bournemouth on Saturday and are currently just four points behind Chelsea as the league leaders prepare to take on Manchester United on Sunday.

Lampard, a Stamford Bridge legend, acknowledges the threat that Mauricio Pochettino and his side pose to the Blues and thinks that their nerves might show at Old Trafford.

“Chelsea are very aware that Spurs are there and it’ll be a tough game for them,” said Lampard on the BBC Sport website.

“There will be some nervousness but so there should be.”

Pochettino’s men romped to their seventh consecutive league win at White Hart Lane with goals from Mousa Dembele, Son Heung-Min, Harry Kane and Vincent Janssen securing a 4-0 win over the Cherries.

League leaders Chelsea know that a defeat to Jose Mourinho’s Man United, who haven’t lost a league game since October, would cause even more title nerves.

Tottenham and Chelsea come to blows next weekend in what is bound to be a thrilling FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

The game will provide one of the two teams with a huge mental boost going into the crucial run-in of fixtures.

Lampard, 38, won three Premier League titles as a Chelsea player and made 631 appearances, scoring 209 goals during a 13 year spell at the club.
