Frank Lampard ‘on his way out’ at Everton after ‘huge’ development – pundit

Frank Lampard won’t be Everton boss for much longer after receiving the full backing of Farhad Moshiri.

That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Toffees’ boss’ future.

Speaking to talkSPORT (12 January), Moshiri urged fans to get behind Lampard – and accused fans of “driving out good managers” like Roberto Martinez, Marco Silva, and Ronald Koeman in the past.

He promised that the Toffees will be “competitive in two years” – once the construction of their state-of-the-art Bramley-Moore Dock stadium is complete.

Everton are in the relegation zone ahead of a double-header against rivals Southampton and West Ham over the next eight days.

McManus doesn’t expect Lampard to manage many more games following MOshiri’s backing.

“The dreaded full confidence message,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“That tells you that you are on thin ice. How many times have we seen it? You get the full backing of the owners and then you are gone.

“That tells me that Lampard is on the way out. You have just seen it’s so many times. The owner or chairman comes out and tells everyone everything is fine and then they lose another game and the manager goes.

“I think that was a message to Lampard, if anything. Moshiri telling him that he has to start winning, like he didn’t know that already.

“It’s a weird way of communicating but that’s Moshiri.

“Lampard is really, really under huge pressure now.”
