By Harry Sykes

Aston Villa have turned to the Bundesliga in an attempt to come up with a solution to their lack of goals, according to a report.

German publication Bild claim the Championship club are keeping close tabs on Wolfsburg winger Anton Donker.

It is said that Villa are interested in signing the Germany Under-20 international, who is regarded as an emerging star in his homeland.

Donker, 19, has made waves at youth-team level for club and country but is still waiting to make his senior Wolfsburg debut.

At the Bundesliga big hitters, he is currently playing for their reserves in the fourth tier of German football.

Villa could use his lowly status to make a move to sign him this month as manager Steve Bruce attempts to revamp at squad that is off the pace in the hunt for the play-off positions.

The promotion expert wants a wide player to create opportunities for his multi-faceted front line, but the only recognised winger available to Bruce is Albert Adomah.

Villa chiefs have made it clear that they expect to be busy pushing through new signings in the final two weeks of the window.

It was announced on Monday that left-back Aly Cissokho has joined Greek club Olympiakos on loan with an option to buy.
