FSG told ‘put your hands in your pockets’ after what pundit has seen at Liverpool
Liverpool may enter the transfer market to boost their midfield options after a poor start to the season.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Reds’ start to the season.
Liverpool are winless after three games and most recently lost 2-1 at Old Trafford (21 August) while turning in another poor performance.
Thiago Alcantara, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, Joel Matip, Curtis Jones, Ibrahima Konate, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Calvin Ramsay and Caoimhin Kelleher are all currently sidelined.
Kenny claims Liverpool could now enter the transfer market in a bid to bolster the club’s midfield options.
“It’s looking like they could do with some help in there,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Whether they put their hands in their pockets and invest, it remains to be seen. There are a few days to go.
“Milner and Henderson both got substituted in the match (v Man United), it shows you need fresh legs up there.
“They are both getting a bit older now, they are both excellent players and they are both fit and I do like them.
“But playing at Old Trafford in a high-intensity game is a lot to ask. I do feel like they might need a bit of help in that area and we will just have to see if they go out and get anyone.”

Liverpool have signed Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay this summer.
They are next in action against Bournemouth on Saturday (27 August).
