Fulham ace Andreas Pereira sends ‘pitbull’ message to Wolves star Joao Gomes
Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira has sent a message to Wolves star Joao Gomes on social media.
The Brazilian midfielder has been a revelation at the Molineux stadium, since joining from Flamengo in January 2023.
Following some impressive performances at the back-end of last season, and the beginning of this one, Gomes was linked with Wolves exits to Man United and Liverpool in January, but stayed after no deal was agreed.
Gomes featured in Wolves’ 2-0 win over Blackburn in the FA Cup fourth round, scoring the match-winner against the Championship side.
The Midlands side will now face off against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in the fifth round on 1 March.
Andreas Pereira wishes his former teammate Joao Gomes a happy birthday
Pereira sent a message to his former Flamengo teammate on his Instagram story, which translates to: “My brother, a true pitbull. Happy birthday. You’re an absolute baller.”

It was not the first message that the Wolves midfielder received, as Matheus Cunha wished Gomes a happy birthday.
Cunha has been a similarly important player for the Midlands side this season, as they struggle to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
Cunha was linked with a move from Wolves to Arsenal in January, and while it failed to materialise, there is expected to be more interest in the former RB Leipzig forward in the summer.
The Molineux side currently sit 17th, with 19 points, and they are only two points above rivals Leicester.
The Midlands side are now onto their second manager of the season, with the hopes that Vitor Pereira can inspire the side in a way that Gary O’Neil failed to in the first half of the season.
Wolves and Pereira now face the tough challenge of trying to beat Liverpool when the two sides meet on Sunday (16 February).
Andreas Pereira begins to redeem himself after Fulham exit rumours
Pereira made the ill-advised move of giving an interview, in which he bemoaned not being able to join Marseille in the summer.
The former Man United attacking midfielder was a near ever present player for the Whites last season, featuring 37 times in the Premier League.
However, after attempting to force through an exit from Craven Cottage, Pereira walked-back his comments, and apologised for the interview.
Pereira was then linked with a move away from Fulham to Palmeiras, but having seen two bids rejected, the Brazilian international has been reintegrated back into Marco Silva’s squad, after a period on the bench.
