Football Insider Verdict

Having scored his first senior international goal in England’s 3-0 win over Latvia, Eberechi Eze carried on that form into Crystal Palace’s FA Cup tie with Fulham.

The tricky winger picked the ball up in the 34th minute, danced past Timothy Castagne, before whipping an effort past the hapless Bernd Leno to give the Eagles the lead.

However, Eze wasn’t done there. Just four minutes later, the former Fulham academy player was released down the left again, before clipping in a left-footed cross, which Ismaila Sarr duly tucked home.

Having been on the back-foot for almost the entirety of the opening stage, Eze’s magic caught the Whites completely off-guard.

Both sides are vying for their first ever major trophy and the 26-year-old’s brilliance gave Fulham a mountain to climb in the second half.
