‘Fulham ready to lose Marco Silva to Tottenham as Danny Rohl news emerges’

Fulham appear to be planning for the worst outcome as Marco Silva continues to be heavily linked with a move to Tottenham.

Ange Postecoglou is under immense pressure in North London, with their Europa League journey likely the only thing keeping the Australian from being sacked by Daniel Levy this summer.

Spurs are currently sitting 16th in the Premier League table, winning just 11 of their 35 matches, with remaining league games against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Brighton.

On the other hand, the Lilywhites are just one game away from a European final, but with either Man United or Athletic Bilbao waiting in the final, it could be yet another season without silverware.

That would almost guarantee a rather sorry exit for the former Celtic figure, and with plenty of speculation around who could replace him, Levy likely already has his mind set on someone.

Marco Silva to replace Ange Postecoglou after Tottenham sack

Fulham’s Silva is joined by Thomas Frank and Oliver Glasner in the list of potential successors, but the former’s chances of making the switch to North London have increased recently.

Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Silva plans to accept the Tottenham job, believing he has now taken the Cottagers as far as possible, with the team set to miss out on the Europa Conference League.

Now, it appears that Fulham are preparing for the hypothetical to become reality this summer, with Sky Sports Germany reporting (5 May) that Sheffield Wednesday’s Danny Rohl is a candidate at Craven Cottage.

It is understood that the 36-year-old is viewed as a replacement for Silva, and has a single-digit million-pound release clause in his current deal at Hillsborough.

Fulham ready to accept the reality of Marco Silva situation amid Danny Rohl update

Rohl is a much-loved figure at Hillsborough, much like Silva is at Craven Cottage, but both figures clearly have bigger ambitions and could move on to new projects ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The Owls managed to secure a top-half finish in the Championship despite a string of bad results in the last few weeks, but there needs to be a lot of improvement, which is not always possible in the division.

Therefore, it might be easy to persuade the German to move to Craven Cottage, and if Silva is to be snapped up by Spurs as Postecoglou’s successor, Rohl could be the perfect figure to take them forward.
