Fulham star is rubbing shoulders with Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers in one key metric
Fulham have one of the best creators in the Premier League who is sitting near the top of one particular stat alongside some big stars.
Fulham have experienced an inconsistent start to this season, with just two wins from their opening seven Premier League games so far.
The international break will have provided Marco Silva with a good opportunity to assess his squad and their performances up to now ahead of a tough upcoming clash against league-leaders Arsenal.
Young star Josh King has been highly impressive for Fulham so far this term, while key centre-back Calvin Bassey is matching the likes of Virgil van Dijk and William Saliba in certain metrics too.
They will each be pivotal to the Cottagers’ chances of success this weekend and beyond into the season, and one of their teammates is also set to continue to play a big part in everything positive under Silva.

Alex Iwobi ranks highly for open-play chances created since start of 2024-25
Alex Iwobi has been an important player for Fulham for a number of years now, after he joined the club in September 2023 from Everton.
He featured in all 38 of their Premier League games last season, scoring nine times and providing six assists, and his value to Silva’s side has now been illustrated by statistical gurus Squawka, via X.
They state that Iwobi has created the fifth-most chances from open-play in the top-flight since the start of last term, with 67, which places him just below Chelsea and England star Cole Palmer (74) and above 2024-25 PFA Young Player of the Year Morgan Rogers (58).
The Nigeria international is keeping company with some of the most highly-rated playmakers in the country, despite usually playing as a central midfielder, with Tottenham‘s Dejan Kulusevski also below him with 58, while Bruno Fernandes is not far ahead with 75.
What Marco Silva has said about Iwobi
Silva signed Iwobi for Everton from Arsenal during his time in charge on Merseyside in 2019, but the pair did not get to work together for long as he was sacked in December of that year just four months after the midfielder’s arrival.
The Portuguese boss clearly rates Iwobi highly, having also snapped him up for Fulham just over two years ago, and he heaped high praise on him last season after an electric start to the 2024-25 campaign.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Silva said: “What an incredible season it’s been for him. To be honest, it doesn’t surprise me. He’s a really important player for me because he’s really versatile. He can play in many different positions. I can move him in one football match without making many changes.
“He’s adding something to his game and he’s improving in the attack. The decisions in terms of assists and goals, he’s adding really in a very good way for his game and we are delighted for it.”
Iwobi will want to come back to haunt his boyhood club Arsenal this Saturday (18 October), as he has not scored against them since leaving six years ago, and now feels like as good a time as ever with Fulham struggling to get going so far this term.
