‘Fulham to mount new Kyle Walker assault at Man City options dwindle’
Fulham have been given fresh incentive to make a new move to sign Kyle Walker from Man City following the latest transfer news.
It has been a quiet start to the window in terms of done deals at Craven Cottage, with the club yet to make any new signings despite manager Marco Silva‘s desire for new additions.
That though is not for the want of trying. It recently emerged that Fulham had enquired about signing Walker from Man City, but had been unable to afford his wage demands.
While that may have seemingly been the end of their interest in the England international, the Cottagers now have another chance to try and bring him in.

Everton turn down Kyle Walker deal
Silva’s side are not the only club to have been interested in the 35-year-old, with Everton also linked with a move for the Man City man.
That deal though will not be happening, with David Moyes‘ side instead closing in on another right-back, which will have implications for the Cottagers’ interest in Walker.
According to new updates, Everton are now close to signing Kenny Tete who is out of contract at Fulham at the end of this month.
The Dutchman will of course be a major loss at Craven Cottage, having been a consistently reliable performer when fit over recent years.
It could though also help open the door for them to make a new move for Walker, given the change in his mindset this could bring about.

Fulham can make new move for Man City man
With Tete now looking set to depart despite being offered a new deal, the emphasis on the Cottagers to sign a new right-back to provide cover and competition for Timothy Castagne has increased.
Meanwhile, Football Insider has been told there is “no way back” for Walker at Man City even now his loan spell at AC Milan has come to an end.
He now also looks to have missed out on a move to Everton, and so the right-back and his current club may be open to adjusting his demands to make a move elsewhere more feasible so he can continue to play regularly.
That could therefore make a deal affordable for Fulham, meaning they may now be able to bring him in so both parties can rectify their issues brought about by Everton moving for Tete.
Given he has just a year remaining on his contract and looks to be frozen out at the Etihad, it would not be shock if Man City were willing to let him go for a minimal fee as well, if not nothing.
Should that prove to be the case, it would keep funds available for the Cottagers to invest in other signings that may be needed, such as a midfielder or centre-forward.
It is understood Fulham have been worried about losing Silva this summer, and backing him this summer, with a move for Walker, could help to allay those concerns, as money saved on a deal could be invested elsewhere in the squad.
With that in mind, those in charge at Craven Cottage may want to take advantage of the setback Tete’s move to Everton would represent, with a raid of their own on Man City.
Walker and City’s successful relationship has quickly soured and both need to find an answer sooner or later, so the incentive to make a move possible for Fulham has surely increased.
