‘Fulham to push for Kyle Walker-Peters signing ahead of Tottenham and West Ham’

Fulham could be set to make Kyle Walker-Peters one of their top priorities this summer and muscle their way past West Ham and Tottenham for a deal.

The former Spurs academy graduate will likely be one of the most sought-after players in the coming transfer window.

The 28-year-old has been one of the few impressive elements in a dismal Southampton side this season, and is available on a free transfer this summer.

West Ham are “well-placed” to sign Walker-Peters, Pete O’Rourke revealed exclusively to Football Insider, but Tottenham and Everton have also shown interest in the right-back.

However, after some concerning developments for Fulham, the Cottagers may prioritise beating their Premier League rivals to the signing of the England international this summer.

Timothy Castagne undergoes surgery on ankle injury whilst Kenny Tete fails to impress

Timothy Castagne is set for a significant spell on the side-lines after undergoing surgery on an issue with his ankle.

The Belgian international has been the de facto first-choice under Tottenham target Marco Silva this season, due to Kenny Tete enduring an injury that has kept him out of 19 games this season.

The duo’s form hindered Fulham’s attempts to sign a right-back in January, with potential signings “reluctant to compete” with the pair for a place in the West London’s squad.

However, Tete has been unimpressive since returning from injury, and with Castagne out for the foreseeable future the Cottagers will undoubtedly look for a replacement in the coming transfer window.

Fulham expected to open talks with free agent Kyle Walker-Peters

As reported by Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth on X (28 April) Silva’s side are already in the frame, reporting: “Fulham are interested in signing full-back Kyle Walker-Peters when his Southampton contract expires this summer.

“Fulham are expected to open talks with his representatives at the end of the season and are aware there will be competition for him.”

Whilst competition will be stiff for the England international, the Whites’ issues at the position will likely see them prioritise the Southampton defender.

Walker-Peters represents great value for money, given the lack of transfer fee, and his proven ability to perform at a Premier League level, even when those around him are failing to do so.

Tottenham will only be able to offer the 28-year-old a role as a back-up to Pedro Porro, whilst West Ham are underperforming and may find themselves in a relegation battle next season if results continue as they have been under Graham Potter, making Fulham arguably the most enticing destination for the in-demand defender.
