Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz reacts to Andreas Pereira amid Leeds links

Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz could be one of the club’s big departures this summer and he has reacted to team mate Andreas Pereira’s message.

The Cottagers have been quiet in the transfer market so far, but Leeds United have been knocking on the door for Muniz’s services.

Leeds have had a bid turned down by the West London club and are prepared to submit another offer as Daniel Farke looks to bolster his strike force.

Farke has signed four players this summer including former Wolfsburg striker Lukas Nmecha on a free transfer.

Muniz reacts to training ground update

Fulham came 11th in the Premier League last season and made the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and have begun pre-season training as they look ahead to the next campaign.

Pereira has returned to the club’s training base as shown by his Instagram post, which was liked by Muniz.

The Brazilian captioned the post: “Back in the game… AP 18,” with a red fire emoji.

The 29-year-old, previously of Manchester United, appeared 37 times for the club in all competitions last season scoring two goals and registering seven assists.

Proven goal scorer required for survival ambitions

It has been a transfer window of contrasting amounts of activity for Leeds and Fulham.

Now established as a top-flight club, Marco Silva doesn’t seem in a rush to strengthen his squad this summer and wants to keep Muniz to compete with Raul Jimenez for the striker position.

Leeds meanwhile are keen to sign players as they return to the Premier League and want to upgrade their squad to become competitive in the division.

The gap between the Championship and Premier League now requires a summer of fine recruitment in order to stand a chance of staying up.

Leeds scored 95 goals on their way to securing the Championship title, but their strike force from the second tier does not have Premier League pedigree.

Muniz has scored goals at the top level, whilst Farke is also looking at Everton’s Beto who netted 12 times in all competitions last season.

Further additions in the forward department are crucial for Leeds’ survival hopes, as so far Farke has prioritised his defence.
