‘Future Gunners legend’ – Arsenal fans delighted at new contract for star

Arsenal supporters believe the future of the club is in good hands following latest contract developments in North London.

The Gunners have tied down Gabriel and Myles Lewis-Skelly to new deals this summer and are keen to ensure other important players in the squad follow the same path.

Keeping stars has come alongside signing fresh faces to bolster the squad and add the missing pieces ahead of another expected title challenge next season.

Arsenal have fallen marginally short of success in the past couple of seasons and Mikel Arteta has only won the FA Cup since he was appointed in December 2019.

Arsenal announced on their social media channels that Hale End graduate “Ethan Nwaneri has signed a long-term contract” with the club.

Nwaneri has been at Arsenal since he was eight and broke through into the first team last season, emerging as one of the Premier League’s brightest young talents.

Amid speculation over Nwaneri signing a new contract, Chelsea were interested in securing the midfielder.

However, doubts have been firmly quashed with Arsenal supporters delighted by the news with one fan saying it is “a statement of intent,” whilst another claimed Nwaneri is a “future Gunners legend.”

The news has and should excite Arsenal fans with players like Nwaneri the future of the club.

Nwaneri could play a pivotal role for Arsenal this season, with Arteta playing the teenager in midfielder during pre-season instead of out on the right flank.

Instead of being a Bukayo Saka back-up as he was last season, Nwaneri could now mould into becoming the next Martin Odegaard at the club.

With no move for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze materialising and Arteta short of options for the number 10 position, Nwaneri looks like he will be required to step up in the role when called upon this campaign.

That splendid curling strike in the 5-1 rout of Manchester City last season was one of Nwaneri’s finest moments as he showcased the quality he posses, even in the biggest matches.

Now with the reassurance of a new deal at the Emirates, Nwaneri should produce more magical moments for the Arsenal support as they strive to go one better than last time out in the Premier League.
