Daniel Gabbidon has compared Tottenham’s Kyle Walker and Danny Rose to Monaco full-backs Benjamin Mendy and Djibril Sidibe after they starred against Manchester City.
The defensive duo were in fantastic form on Wednesday night, as Monaco knocked Pep Guardiola’s side out of the Champions League.
With the aggregate score reading 6-6, Monaco’s 3-1 win on the night was enough to see Leonardo Jardim’s side progress after scoring three away goals at the Etihad.
Former Premier League defender Gabbidon compared the duo on his personal Twitter account to Rose and Walker, describing all four defenders as “absolute flying machines.”

Left-back Mendy was crucial in the build-up to Monaco’s second goal, as he struck a low cross into Fabinho to double the Ligue 1 leaders’ advantage.
That assist was Mendy’s seventh since the turn of the year, as he continues to shine along with Sidibe on the biggest stage by progressing into the last eight of the elite competition.
Walker and Rose, who are considered England’s first-choice full-backs, have also shone on the flanks of Mauricio Pochettino’s defence but failed to help Spurs find success in Europe.
Premier League fans could soon see both Mendy and Sidibe on these shores, with reports suggesting that a whole host of Monaco’s stars are interesting England’s heavyweights.
