Gabby Agblonahor in agreement with Rio Ferdinand over major Man United issue

Manchester United fell to their third defeat of the Premier League season, losing 3-1 away at Brentford on Saturday.

Man United fell to a 3-1 defeat despite Benjamin Sesko scoring his first Premier League goal since his move from RB Leipzig this summer.

Igor Thiago’s brace and Mathias Jensen’s thunderbolt gave Brentford a comfortable 3-1 win after Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty to make it 2-2.

Man United are prepared to sack Ruben Amorim after the club’s dismal early run, according to reports, with a shortlist of candidates drawn up already.

Gabby Agbonlahor echoes Rio Ferdinand’s ‘tinkering’ stance

Many have pointed to Amorim’s constant changes that the Portuguese head coach makes to his back three within matches.

Rio Ferdinand spoke on his Rio Presents podcast, saying he’d have hated playing under Amorim, and that’s a stance talkSPORT’s Gabby Agbonlahor has echoed.

Agbonlahor said: “You see attackers and midfielders come on and they can have impacts on the game, but I’ve seen Rio Ferdinand say the same, centre-half is the hardest position to come on and change the game, yet he brings them on like he’s bringing on a centre-forward to go and win the game.

“He’ll keep doing it and ignoring the noise; he seems like the most stubborn manager ever.”

Amorim has changed at least one member of his back three in each of United’s seven games this season, which has baffled many pundits.

Gabby Agbonlahor believes players are ‘scared’ to play for Man United

Agbonlahor also discussed Amorim’s future at Man United following their third Premier League defeat of the season.

The ex-Aston Villa forward said: “If you look at his record it’s got to be done because the players look scared to play for Manchester United.

Man United have had a poor start to the season

“The players aren’t running for their manager, the club captain, Bruno Fernandes, isn’t tracking back on so many occasions, they look lost, and a lot of the players look like Manchester United is too big a club for them. We keep saying it season on season, and it’s getting draining watching Man United.”

Amorim will likely not change his style or the backline tinkering, but the 40-year-old will pray that his United side somehow turn their fortunes around at home to Sunderland.
