Gabriel Gudmundsson will be sweating over Leeds United future as upgrade identified
Gabriel Gudmundsson established himself as Leeds United’s first-choice left-back this season, but it is no guarantee that this will continue.
Daniel Fark is eyeing upgrades to his squad this summer, and the Peacocks have now been linked to PSV’s Mauro Junior.
VI on 28 May has reported that Leeds are chasing the full-back, who added another Eredivisie title to his collection this season.
There is reportedly a release clause in his contract that could see him depart for a limited transfer fee, which could help the club seal a deal.
For Gudmundsson, this is bad news, and could help spell the end of his Leeds career.

While Gudmundsson has been solid at left-back for Leeds this season, it is clear that he is lacking an attacking output.
The Sweden international failed to provide a single goal or assist in the Premier League this season, and struggled to provide an influence in attack.
| League stats per 90 minutes this season | Mauro Junior | Gabriel Gudmundsson |
| Goals | 0.04 | 0.00 |
| Shots | 0.95 | 0.61 |

| Assists | 0.39 | 0.00 |

In comparison, Junior is fantastic when it comes to the final third, and he picked up nine league assists this campaign, while also getting another two in the Champions League.
If Leeds can complete the signing, Junior would almost certainly become the starting left-back over Gudmundsson.
As a result, the Swede may be sold, with the West Yorkshire club choosing to cash in while his stock is high.
Who else are Leeds aiming to sign?
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Leeds are lining up a move for Lyon midfielder Tanner Tessmann.
The Peacocks are exploring the possibility of a deal for the 24-year-old, although the Ligue 1 side do not want to sell this summer.
The release clause in Mauro Júnior’s contract is reportedly around €18 million.

A few top clubs in southern Europe, including the known FC Porto, are seriously considering making a bid for the Brazilian.

The former FC Dallas star is well-known to the 49ers after his development in the MLS, and sources have indicated that they could hold the key to a deal to bring him to Elland Road this summer.
Tessmann was surprisingly excluded from the USA’s World Cup squad this summer, which gives Leeds all summer to strike a deal.
However, it remains to be seen if the Peacocks can pull this off as they look to turn themselves into an established Premier League outfit and move away from the relegation zone next season.
