Gabriel Jesus posts injury update to Arsenal fans in new message

Gabriel Jesus gave Arsenal fans a reassuring update as he continues his recovery from injury.

The Brazilian endured a frustrating campaign at the Emirates, having been ruled out for the remainder of the season back in January — just as he was starting to find form.

Jesus suffered an ACL tear during Arsenal’s FA Cup defeat to Manchester United, a blow that left the squad short of attacking options. His absence was immediately felt, particularly as Kai Havertz was also sidelined a few weeks later, forcing Mikel Arteta to rely on Mikel Merino as an emergency forward option.

Before the injury, Jesus had started to hit his stride, scoring six goals in December and looking sharp in front of goal. But just as he found momentum, his season came to an abrupt halt.

Now, as the season came to a close, the 28-year-old has offered an encouraging update to supporters, signalling that his recovery is on track and that he’s working hard behind the scenes to return stronger.

Gabriel Jesus shares rehab update as Arsenal weigh striker options

The striker posted multiple videos on his Instagram story, showing himself continuing his rehabilitation following the ACL injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Before the setback, Jesus had made six Premier League starts and featured in 27 matches across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in 1,204 minutes of action.

However, since Havertz’s arrival in 2023, the Brazilian has struggled to maintain a regular starting role. Some Arsenal supporters have even called for Jesus to be sold due to his inconsistent performances.

Despite Jesus’ injury in January, the Gunners opted not to sign a replacement striker, even after Arsenal made a move for Ollie Watkins that was rejected. That decision left the team short of natural options up front for the rest of the campaign.

Jesus remains one of the club’s highest earners, but with his recovery ongoing, a sale this summer appears highly unlikely.

With Mikel Arteta’s side in clear need of more firepower, the club are expected to prioritise a new striker in the upcoming transfer window.

Reports suggest Arsenal have already completed groundwork for a deal to sign RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko ahead of a potential summer move.

Back in March, Football Insider reported that Arsenal were leading the race for Sesko, fending off interest from the likes of Tottenham.

After finishing second in the league for a third consecutive season, the Gunners appear determined to strengthen their attack and finally make the leap to title winners.
